Democratic Food Fight

Leave it to the Democrats to make a hash of democracy.

When the Democratic Party's Rules and Bylaws Committee met at the Marriott in Woodley Park yesterday to decide what to do with the contested primary results in Florida and Michigan, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean kicked off the session by suggesting they avoid a "food fight."

Good luck with that.

"Alice in Wonderland."

"Willy-nilly."

"Totally incorrect."

"This way lies chaos."

"An arbitrary formula."

"My mama always taught me to play by the rules."

"Cheating."

"Let's cancel 2012."

And that was just from the members of the committee.

It's always fun to see the Clinton supporters arguing that the Rules Committee didn't follow the rules, when Florida and Michigan completely flouted them and those same Clinton supporters want full votes for those same delegations.

They should be HAPPY that they're getting to be seated at the convention at all.

I love the Democrats, there hasn't been a more unruly bunch since Attila disbanded the Huns. I somehow find that reassuring in this high gloss age of corporate sponsored reality.
