Arizona congressional candidate fires guns in ad; Alvin Greene's new website; Idaho awaits the apocalypse

Arizona voters who don't pull the lever for Republican congressional candidate Pamela Gorman have this to consider: She just might shoot them.

Gorman, in a new ad, fires a machine gun and pistols scores of times as a goofy sounding announcer calls this year "our best shot at changing Congress. 'Course that all depends on the caliber of our candidates."

Gorman, identified by the announcer as a "conservative Christian and a pretty fair shot," is seen blowing up the word "TAXES" in a graphic. "Gorman, she can take care of herself," the voice says.

A soft, feminine voice then says: "I'm Pamela Gorman and I approve this message." The ad ends in a hail of gunfire.

South Carolina's Democratic Senate nominee, Alvin Greene, the unemployed man who is in trouble with the law, reached another milestone in his excellent electoral adventure: He has gone multimedia.

His slick new website promises an agenda that will have his foe, Republican Sen. Jim DeMint, quaking: "Good paying jobs for South Carolinians. . .Better education for our children. . .Making sure the punishment fits the crime."

Punishment fits the crime? For example, if you are facing felony pornography charges in South Carolina, you will be forced to accept the Democratic nomination for Senate.

Seems the good folks of Idaho have been watching too much Glenn Beck.

The Idaho Republican Party has just come out with a special new Armageddon-edition platform. Among its planks: A loyalty test for candidates, a recommendation that Idaho withhold federal taxes, restricting marriage to "naturally born" men and women (in vitro babies need not apply?), and, best of all, proposing that residents stock up on gold and silver as a sensible precaution for the coming apocalypse.

Maybe he was talking about UPS workers?

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo) issued an apology after one of her aides floated the notion that health-care opponents are using tactics like those "brownshirts" who brought Hitler to power.
Come on, folks, how many times do we have to tell you? Comparing your opponents to Nazis just isn't reich.

Wow...She is not a very good shot and appears to miss the target, A LOT.

rootin' tootin' pammy better learn to hold tight ... she barely retains control of the gun she's firing.

honestly, what a fool. it's frightening to think there are people who will vote for her.

Hmmm...Wonder what she'd say to giving machine guns to illegal aliens. Welcome to America, here's your fully-loaded assault rifle, Pedro.

Pamela Gorman does an impressive job keeping the weapon down range and on target. She is shooting a Thompson submachine gun, a .45 pistol, Colt AR-15 carbine, and a large frame magnum revolver. The weapon returns to the point of aim after the recoil of every shot. Very impressive.

Apparently Dana Milbank the metrosexual also objects to Pamela Gorman being soft an feminine.

I can just see picture of you clueless leftist nitwits handling a Thompson or a .44 magnum.

"Soft and feminine" and "conservative Christian", yet she holds in her hands and uses weapons of mass destruction. Hilarious. Apparently she doesn't see any contradictions in her life at all. Which Weapon Would Jesus Pick?

"If only Pamela Gorman was a homely mannish brute like Elena Kagan, I would not feel so conflicted."

Was there a broadsided barn in that commercial?

I thought that ownership of actual machine guns (not semi-automatic) is against Federal Law?????

If not ... where can I but a 50.cal belt fed machine gun to mount on my Volkswagon Beetle?

Would this be classified as pseudo-sexual machine gun envy?

@screwjob16: I'm liberal, yet I have fired 29 out of 30 rounds in a magazine on full auto in a H&K MP5 into the body of a silhouette target @ 25 yards. There are such things as liberals with guns, and apparently, some of us are better shots than Ms. Gorman!

@lufrank1: Private ownership of fully automatic is legal but heavily regulated. You have to pay an ATF tax of $200, undergo an FBI background check, and register the firearms with the local Sheriff's office--and notify any jurisdictions you transport them to, among other regulations.

Another sick Sarah Palin gun moll!

Further proof that the NRA holds FAR TOO much sway over our political process.

She should turn the gun on herself but given her inability to hit a target she might miss!

It certainly LOOKS like Gorman knows what she's doing- but I would be much more impressed if I saw what the target looked like after her shooting session.

I heard the ad before I saw it, and assumed it was a cartoon, a caricature... you know, old-fashioned satire.

Imagine my surprise...

Note the obligatory Leftstream media suggestion that anyone interested in guns is likely to be dangerous: "She just might shoot them."

And, yes, I own a gun; A 240-year-old musket, without shot or powder, hangs over my fireplace. Would make a good club though. Given they found a body recently (okay, actually half a body) very near our condo, and that on a recent weekend here in gun-controlled Blagobamaville we had 44 wounded and 8 killed by guns, I may need it.

The Republican Conservative “Christian’s” Jesus is dressed to the hilt in camos, wears a double fully packed bandoleer, carries an AK-47 under one arm (maybe sometimes for show, just a plain ole machine gun). Under the other arm is an RPG launcher.
Created in the image of his “Christian” Conservative coalition that uses His name for political gain and to justify all sorts of injustice, his swagger epitomizes the “in-your-face” politics of the party that has no moral, ethical nor legal constraints, and exists primarily for the support and protection of the money changers and those who sell the doves. He roams the streets of Red States, kicking immigrants while yelling “You are NOT my neighbor!!!” Rumor has it that He even ran away and denied his parents because they went to be counted in the census and actually paid their taxes with humility and thanksgiving. He preaches the Republican gospel of “Capitalism…store up your treasures here on earth!! Let the poor pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. If they don’t have any….we’ll sell them some at huge profiteering markup!” And also, you CAN serve TWO MASTERS….Money and Power!” Worship master market and lobbyists can grant you both. The Republican Conservative Jesus will have no more of that healing of the sick and lame, at least not for free as he did in the past…no more of that. And CERTAINLY there will be no more of that coddling those laborers in the vineyards and giving the last the same as the first in wages because contracts on the part of business do not have to be adhered to (but labor must abide). And most of all, there will be no more of that feeding the multitudes stuff. We own the concession stands that were built by the multitudes taxes , and now they must pay according to our need and greed. Finally, what’s with the “peace on earth thing”? I have a Constitutional right (not sure of a Biblical right, but, for our gang Constitution trumps Bible) to have and use these arms I’m wearing. Just try prying them from these nail-holed, cold dead hands.

My words are not a judgement…just my observed opinion based on the actions of the Republican Conservative POLITICAL MOVEMENT. My Jesus is pretty much the opposite and I am blessed!

i lived in the phoenix area for over 40 years. i very much enjoyed the freedom gun laws of arizona. i raised my ex-wife and children on firearm safety, ok, make that three ex-wives. they all learned to shoot a rugar super blackhawk 44 mag revolver. 48 ounce, 71/2 in barrel hand cannon. all became very responsible point to shoot gunners. i very much appreciate the ability of sen gorman to master said firearms. they are not for the weak and timid. i am an obama supporter who now lives in oregon and i closely follow this administrations criteria reguarding firearm ownership. i consider myself a moderate voter and i despise jan brewer's racial profileing of arizonas brown skin residents. but, if i were to ever consider voting for another republican, it would have to be someone like sen gorman or john mcCains daughter megan. my hat is off to ms gorman. rcm.

I am a Christian work in progress, trying hard, according to scripture. I don’t intend to offend, but if actions are indicators of beliefs, then the following is how I think the Christian Conservatives envision their messiah.

I'm waiting for the sexual political donkey show like the one you'd see in Tijuana, Mexico where the women does the donkey. If it took such practices to get ahead or make a buck, these broads would be first in line. These women of ill repute will do anything for fame and fortune no matter what the cost wold be. Conservative Christian? I'm obviously not one but never claimed to be and I know a non-Christian when I see one.

Is this what fools think is someone looking out for them or who's going to protect their gun rights? Now ask yourselves, who's worse them or the fools that follow and even admire them?
