Obama's presidential seal topples; Palin attacks Miller with poor punctuation; Joe the Plumber vs. puppies
The polls are dismal. The opposition is emboldened. And now the trappings of the presidency are falling down around President Obama.
Midway through Obama's speech to Fortune magazine's "Most Powerful Women Summit" on Tuesday night, the presidential seal fell from its place on the lectern and landed noisily on the stage. It wasn't exactly the metaphor Obama was looking for just weeks from the midterm election.
"All of you know who I am," Obama joked, by way of recovery. He also speculated that the staff member in charge of seal hanging was probably feeling very nervous.
Not as nervous as those staff members who are superstitious.
Will somebody please refudiate our fear that there is a serious punctuation problem in the Palin household. An e-mail from Todd Palin to Alaska's Republican Senate nominee Joe Miller appears to show that Sarah Palin is planning to run for president and that her fondness for Miller has not been mutual. But it also shows Todd Palin's precarious command of written English:
Joe and Tim,
Hold off on any letter for Joe. Sarah put her ass on the line for Joe and yet he can't answer a simple question " is Sarah Palin Qualified to be President". I DON'T KNOW IF SHE IS.
Joe, please explain how this endorsement stuff works, is it to be completely one sided.
Sarah spent all morning working on a Facebook post for Joe, she won't use it, not now.
Put yourself in her shoe's Joe for one day.
If the shoe's fit, where them.
Joe the Plumber is back on the scene, making a courageous stand in favor of puppy mills.
Missouri has a ballot initiative supported by the Humane Society called the "Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act," aimed at shutting down 3,000 such mills in that state.
But Joe Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, wrote a letter in opposition to the initiative. He says the Humane Society is "using the referendum process to slowly, systematically eliminate food production in the United States.
So Joe the Plumber eats puppies?
Drill here, drill now!
It's the ultimate revenge against an administration that has been hostile to drilling. President Obama opposed drilling in ANWR. He slapped a moratorium on deep water drilling. Instead, they've now set up a drilling rig on the North Lawn of the White House. And White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs is complaining about the noise.
