More wedding dress speculation
Another day, another rumor that Bruce Oldfield is to design Kate Middleton's wedding gown; this time from the Telegraph. Like the Daily Mail report we linked to yesterday, the article is based on the recent visit by Carole and Pippa Middleton, Kate's mother and sister, to the designer's shop.
We're intrigued that the story says "Details of Miss Middleton's dress will not be released officially before the wedding at Westminster Abbey on April 29." The designers of Princess Diana's wedding dress, David and Elizabeth Emanuel, were hounded by the media in the run-up to her July 1981 wedding to Prince Charles. Details of the dress itself were not known before Diana stepped out of the Glass Coach at St. Paul's Cathedral -- but we don't remember the exact protocol on information about the designers being announced. Luckily, this is the type of research we enjoy.
