Security Pointers for Small Businesses

Microsoft and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to issue what appears to be a fairly comprehensive guide for helping small businesses secure their computer systems.

Included are tutorials on a variety of security issues facing small businesses, such as hardening your company's digital defenses, fighting phishing and spam, and battling infestations of adware and spyware.

The site also offers a series of how-tos on tricky subjects that nearly all small businesses must grapple with at some point, such as tightening wireless security, wiping hard drives before offloading old computers, and what to do if your computer security technician or consultant suddenly quits.

In addition to the Web site, there is also a nifty PDF document that highlights some of the key security points for small businesses.
