About This Blog

I love to shop. I always seem to be in the market for something new, whether it's a bed for my daughter or flooring to spruce up my kitchen. I've spent most of my journalism career covering business and technology, but now I get to share the thrill of the hunt.

In this blog I will prowl the region and the Web for answers to some of those huge life questions... like what should you really buy at discount shopping clubs or where to find the best places to get digital photos processed. Each Tuesday I'll feature a rundown on local finds; on Thursday I'll dig deeper into specialty stores or seasonal purchases, as well as tips and advice on how to handle some of the biggest shopping dilemmas.

As a native Washingtonian, I know the metro area's big malls, small boutique stores and super-sized warehouse stores. And, like you, I'll be out there shopping every week. Please send me suggestions, questions, gripes, shopping experiences, and of course, your greatest "get" of the week to shoptoit@washingtonpost.com.

I looove this blog, because as a Grandparent, it's going to save me a lot of time, which I can spend with my granddaughter and the one on the way. Thank you Tania, but don't spend too much money while you are doing your research. Can't wait for the next one.

I don't really enjoy the thrill of the hunt; I'd rather have someone say, "Look. There it is!" So I'm delighted to have discovered this blog. Thanks.
