The Speed Read

The trailer for the upcoming movie based on Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are runs longer than it takes to read the book. Can't imagine how director Spike Jonze and screenwriter Dave Eggers managed to pull off a whole movie....The inevitable spoof trailer, based on the beloved children's classic Everybody Poops, is also longer than the original....Poetry is just perfect for Twitter....Margaret Atwood is up for another award, a Canadian business book award....Mark Sarvas lists the top ten really, really smart literary blogs. We didn't make it (next year!) but Mark Athitakis, one of our reviewers, did.... It's the 25th anniversary of Sandra Cisneros's groundbreaking House on Mango Street.....Kofi Annan will write a memoir....Recommended Passover reading....and Harper's describes the last book party, ever.
