Democrats to Tell Kids: 'Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.'

Woops, an errant email advisory sent to House Democratic members by Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office had some unique suggested talking points for the upcoming "Read Across America" day. Basically, it said, just tell the kids and their teachers: blah, blah, blah.

In the email, the speaker's press office advised other Democrats to visit an elementary school in their districts on March 3 and talk about the importance of reading. Pelosi's staff attached "frequently asked questions" about Read Across America, a fact sheet on President Bush's '09 education budget, a list of "the 47 education programs eliminated" in the president's budget and -- wait, there's more:

"Blah, blah, blah, blah
Blah, blah, blah."

Eloquently put. The blah, blah bit was the final suggestion of what Democratic members might impart to teachers and students on the importance of reading.

Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly, sounding a little like the character on Saturday Night Live (yeah, that's the ticket!), assured us it was intentional.

"In honor of Read Across America, it was a test to see if anyone actually read the entire email. I'm pleased to report that many people did," Daly said in an email.

Actually, we hear "yadda, yadda, yadda" will be the Democrats' suggested reading for next year's Read Across America day.

When Hillary is President, the most vulnerable children will no longer take a back seat to the most powerful special interests. They will once again have a doer, a fighter, and a champion in the White House.

* The following are key elements from Hillary's plan: Giving Every Child a Chance.

You can access the full plan here: http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=6246

* The plan is aimed at achieving two big goals:

1. Cutting child poverty in half by the year 2020, lifting 6 million children above the poverty line.

2. Ending child hunger in America by the beginning of Hillary's second term in office.

Brigittepj,

Why do you insist on posting off-topic comments? This is not your first time doing so in this vein. Or is this also part of the test to see if people actually read?

The only think Hillary is going to teach our children is to lie, lie, lie!!!
HILLARY IS A BOLD FACE LIAR!!
WATCH THE YOUTUBE VIDEO TITLED: "THE SHOCKING VIDEO HILLARY DOES NOT WANT YOUR TO SEE".
THE VIDEO CONCERNS HILLARY CAMPAIGN FINANCING FRAUD, WITH A MAN NAMED PETER PAUL. THIS CASE IS CURRENTLY IN COURT IN CALIFORNIA. SOMEHOW THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA HAS DECIDED NOT TO TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON!! Hillary Clinton is facing a Campaign Finance Fraud case in court in California. Apparently she had a man named Peter Paul do a fund raising event for her U.S. Senator election campaign, raising $1.2 million dollars for her. After it was revealed that Peter Paul had a criminal background, Hillary lied about knowing him, or receiving $1.2 millions in campaign financing from him. She also filed documents with the FEC, and did not report the $1.2 million dollars she had received from the campaign fundraiser, WHICH IS A FELONY.
VIDEO evidence, and PHONE CALL evidence, and LETTERS evidence (as seen in the youtube video) is going to be presented in court in California in his lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, and she will most likely be charged with a felony.

The mainstream press has for some reason been ignoring this story fact, but it is for us to search out the truth.
It is imparitive that people know this information before they vote, because Hillary, with yet another fraud case pending, where there is physical proof of her participatig in the fraud, on video tape, will NOT become president, and will be prosecuted!

Democrats need to know the facts so they don't waste their votes on this dishonest woman who will not make it to the White House. This information is in the public domain, and the courts, and the Republicans will surely use it during the general election.

WE DO NOT WANT TO PUT ANOTHER PATHELOGICAL LIAR LIKE HILLARY, AND HER ACCOMPLICE, HER LYING HUSBAND, THE WORST LYING PRESIDENT TO DATE, BILL CLINTON, BACK IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

THE YOUTUBE VIDEO IS A MUST SEE: IT'S CALLED -"THE SHOCKING VIDEO HILLARY CLINTON DOES NOT WANT YOU TO SEE",
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR VOTE ON THIS DISGRACEFUL WOMAN, VOTE FOR SOMEONE WITH INTEGRITY.

Michelle Obama chastises us for our fear of her husband. Should we fear him? What should we do about these feelings of fear? What about this feeling, fear.

Fear is useful. It causes us to pause or even stop what we are doing and attend to the object that evokes this feeling. A fearful reaction may be a result of past experience or insufficient knowledge. We may have good reason to react with fear to past experiences.

But, what about fear resulting from insufficient knowledge. What should we do or how should we react when dealing with fear resulting from insufficient knowledge?

When dealing with fear resulting from insufficient knowledge we can either draw upon our unique experiences to evaluate our proper reaction or response. We can seek to gain additional information to add to our body of knowledge by looking outwardly to our environment.

In the case of Michelle's husband we can look to others who have come in contact with him or who have knowledge of him. We may speak to them or read what they have written about him. The NY Times has written some about him but, all the articles are oddly superficial. The Chicago Tribune has a walled garden around its archives that make research by the average citizen impractical due to cost. The Sun-Times has its problems too.

We can also even speak to her husband or listen to him speak or even read what he has written.

In Michelle's husband's case we don't have a lot to go on. He's only been speaking to us publicly since he began to run for President, a year or so. His history as an Illinois State legislator is difficult to get at as the web site for the Illinois state legislature does not offer a convenient summary of his voting record for us to easily evaluate. He has not written much and what he has written is not easily available.

He does not have a long legislative history with either the Illinois state legislature or the U.S. Senate. With respect to his U.S. Senate history he has been campaigning for most of that time. So what should we do when certain aspects of his background evoke feelings of fear?

What we do is rely on our own understanding of the world around us, talk to those with whom we're comfortable and look to the resources around us for as much information as reasonably possible. If the feeling persist then we should avoid the cause of our fears. If Michelle's husband evokes fear we should avoid him.

...we interrupt this inane rambling snarky commentary with a moment of reality.

In a rare moment of cross aisle defense of a Democratic Senator, I'll say this much, if its an internal memo about setting up a presentation, the specific material to be discussed probably had not been 100% determined and the subject would be more about general formatting of the presentation.

Get over it people, that's pretty normal in the business world.

We now return to your previously scheduled inane commentary, already in progress....

The Democratic leaders are sending out emails as to what to discuse during Reading Accross America. Well, maybe what they should discuse is what all the money the Department of Education received was used on. You see, it seems that before the Department of Education came in being, the US was one of the top five or ten countries in the world in education. Since the development of the Department and it's receiving millions or billions of dollars over the years, the US has gone to the bottom of the list of countries in education. Maybe it's is time to demand a return on all the money that has been given to education.

Time to wake up, former Americans. There is no election. This is parody of a Constitutional election. You saw what happened to John Edwards, the only candidate talking about the need for fundamental reform, constitutional change, realism. He was self-evidently correct. But incompetent, unethical public news corporation pundits slandered him, lied about his courteous campaign, attacked his motives, ignored the fact that the other candidates were stealing his ideas and parroting them back; and they gave him 9% of the coverage--most of it their slanders-while also failing deal with his allegations of official corruption and the need for change. And, oh yes, as their postmodernist 'substantive' journalism they devoted more time to his hairdo and his house's size than they did to his record, his consistent advocacy over decades for victims of collectivistic crimes by governmental criminals and his progress in Iowa in persuading voters to listen to him, which had been substantial.
Senator Biden and Governor Richardson were treated in much the same manner; while so-called "front runners"--months before a vote was ever held--lucky fundraisers Hillary and Barack--were depicted as being in a horse race; while every real issue, attested fact about their records clear idea, definition, (or lack thereof), voting record and vital piece of information was lied about, misrepresented, and then made part of a Kantian fake headlining and false reporting scheme. And now they same statist pundits with their secret agenda have destroyed Hillary Clinton's superior record by making her answer questions first, trivializing her responses to nasty treatment, and conspiring to slander her, slander her daughter, ignore Michelle Obama's doing exactly what Bill Clinton has done--act as a surrogate for a mate--and lied about, misreported or ignored the real issues from day one. Of course she has more experience, and is giving better answers; of course her health care proposal is better. The attacks on her are coming from pseudo-theocratic haters of individual rights, and are without substance. She has done nothing wrong except think her fellow senators really wanted health care for the slaves of the USers corporate-government run evil empire.
If I had the money after fifty years of shining sanity, I'd leave the sick empire to its fate under imperial president whoever. But thanks to the absence of any marketplaces of hiring for ability or running an election or controlling sales, I don't have enough money to leave.
I hope you do, for your sake.

Why are there 47 federal education programs to cut in the first place? What a giant waste of money.

Interesting. I read an article on promoting reading in America and find it followed by off-topic ramblings, off-topic shouting, firm belief in unsubstantiated allegations, misspelled words, poor grammar, and bad punctuation. Perhaps, if most of the writers read more and wrote less, they would be better educated. With better education, perhaps they could make their points in more concise and believable manners while actually staying on topic. I really was looking forward to some intelligent comments, but, alas, it was not to be.

Why in the name of our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama would anyone expect intelligent comments on the internet?

Posted by: Anonymous | March 4, 2008 4:48 PM | Report abuse

Can't we just get rid of the Dept. of Education yet and give it to the states where it belongs. Have we not noticed yet that the Federal government dooes not do good things when trying to control something like this? Eliminate the DEPT OF EDUCATION and everyone will be better off. The money can go to other things and the states are better at controling these types of matters anyway.
