Should Sarah Palin Go on Saturday Night Live?
After giving the show so much rich material and sending its ratings sky high, Sarah Palin has decided to get all mavericky with Tina Fey live on stage. That's right, the Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor is going on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend.
"I haven't seen a script -- not at all," Palin told syndicated radio host Neal Boortz Friday. "Haven't been hinted about what that script is going to say."
After being the butt of jokes on late-night comedy shows for weeks now following her disastrous series of interviews with Katie Couric, and given that GOP presidential nominee John McCain trails Barack Obama by double digits, it might make sense for Palin to show her human side and go on SNL. Or does it?
Take our Palin SNL poll and let us know what you think.

This doesn't sound like a good idea. SNL doesn't rehabilitate nor establish the credibility of people we the electorate want to run our government. I remember how shocked the Washington establishment was that Bill Clinton played the sax on late night tv. He can actually play and I remember thinking it was pretty cool. What's her talent?
Props for taking the risk, however.

An idiot in any venue is still an idiot. It doesn't matter what she does. She's an under-educated, poor choice for VP. Don't get me wrong, being a democrat, I'm thrilled with the choice.

I'm upset at SNL, frankly, for allowing what they well know is a dangerous woman comedic air time. All for ratings. People are stupid enough to give her "charm" or "sympathy" votes because of this. Good grief.

The vast majority of the MSM along with SNL see the world from the left. The longer they stay in their own echo chamber the more brazen they become.
When Walter Cronkite gave us the news he was only on for 30 minutes. In 30 minutes it is hard to editorialize the news even if you wanted to.
Today in 24 hour news cycle it is apparently very difficult not to editorialize the events of the day.
You could actually see the networks lose all objectivity when the race tightened up 6 weeks ago. They were frothing at the mouth.
They may cut Sarah a break in an effort to restore some sensibility. But I doubt it. Why should Sarah Palin kiss and make up? Frankly, they are waiting for her and they hate her guts. It is time conservatives quit making nice with people who hate them.

I expect that she will be very good on the show. She has shown that she has considerable appeal to many people when reciting lines written by others. But a good performance will not make her detractors -- like myself -- more likely to conclude that she has what it takes to be President. The country is in crisis, and we need leaders with the skill and judgment to guide us through difficult times. We don't need an entertainer.

Basically, nothing at this point could rehabilitate Palin's reputation enough to make any difference to the McCain ticket, but showing oneself to be a "good sport" has always been good for American politicians. Appearing side-by-side with Tina Fey at least might provide damage control before Palin returns to Alaska.

I can't believe Sarah Palin called certain parts of the country UnAmerican. Look at the words she used. Pro American, Real Americans, and Best of America. What kind of Right Wing nut is Sarah Palin to be running for VP and insulting the same folks she wants to vote for her. I guess its only Obama supporters or anybody who doesn't support their robo calls and low road campaign tactics. I think the media is taking this too lightly. Sarah Palin during a fund raiser said that only certain parts of the country are patriotic and real Americans and she's running to be VP and proberly president. Thats very alarming and I think she needs to explain exactly which part of America does she think is UnAmerican or less patriotic. This is starting to become a narrative. On Chris Mathews today congresswoman Michelle Bockwman said that congress should be integregated on who's American and anti-American. Now Sarah Palin is stating that only certain parts of America are Pro America. This follows 3 weeks of attacks from the Mccain/Palin campaign that questioned Obama's patriotism. The republicans and Mccain/Palin campaign should be questioned about their patriotism its the Republican party that has made the economy worst with their deregulation and their Right Wing policies for the rich. Its the Republican Party that has us in 2 wars thats costing us Billions a month. How patriotic is the Republican Pary when the leader of their Party is leaving the country with 2 wars with no resolution, 11 trillion in debt, and a economy in turmoil? Their the ones if anybody who's patriotism should be in quesion. I think if Mccain/Palin were in the White House the country would be worst with their radical Right Wing beliefs and their decisive nature. KEEP MCCAIN/PALIN OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE. WHY HASN'T THE MEDIA ASK MCCAIN ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH GORDON LIDEY? IT TOOK DAVID LETTERMAN A NIGHT SHOW COMEDIAN TO GIVE MCCAIN A REAL INTERVIEW. THE MOST EFFECTIVE INTERVIEW MCCAIN HAS HAD THROUGHOUT THIS CAMPAIGN.

How many of those who berate her have earned a college degree in 4 years instead of the now mostly 6 years. Who among you has ever held an elected office beyond that in some club? Before you can be a know-it-all you have to, at least, be a know-something. How many of you whiners would or could appear on Saturday Night Live? No guts. No glory. Just a bunch of dolts. Go, Sarah!

First of all JBE it is spelled unindicted with an i and unindicted means not enough evidence to try. Look, the media and that investigator Branchflower are democrats who filter the news to make Palin appear unqualified. Barack Obama stated he was in 57 states with one to go! Biden claimed in an interview with Katie Couric that FDR got on TV and calmed people after the stock market crash of 1929. Problem was FDR was'nt the prez until 1933 and the TV was no around in '29. Why do they get free passes? Because they are democrats!
Unfortunately, the media give the Democrats a 10 million vote head start in every presidential election.

Take a step back in time. Most of us watched SNL since its beginnings. The writers then, were extremely creative and allowed the cast to grow and run with their skits. SNL had its ups and downs. As of late, they presented their MSM views more to the left. Now, when they invite someone who is a Republican to the show, those voices are complaining. Why is there hypocrisy? Where is the balance? I salute SNL for doing this as long as they write the humor and respect both sides to the skits they use. With today’s political climate SNL ran with all the political gaffs both right and left, but mainly hit hardest towards the right. We still have that imbalance given by the writers who lean to the right. Does SNL have any writers who dare to reveal the ‘right’ and use the humor accordingly? I doubt it. Then this is a good way of opening the doors to mix the humor well.
If having SP on SNL and she has the guts to go on, with whatever lines they throw at her, all the better! It seems she sees humor as good way to ‘cross over those lines’. Why not accept it and go with the flow? This will show the audience she has a human approach and is willing to take on those punches directly thrown at her. It’s about time SNL start creating a place where both parties are represented equally in good humor. Looking back at the Smith Benefit which took place in NYC, the night before; both candidates were able to mock fun at themselves and each other for such a short time, unfortunately.
I think SP will do fine.

But frankly, while I am a fan of SNL, I will purposefully NOT be watching tonight, just as I have researched any products (beer) distributed by the McCain (Hensley) companies and am boycotting those, too.
I love that 100,000 Americans came to hear Senator Obama today in Missouri -- we'll turn this state blue, too.

After all, she is a joke, so perhaps it is fitting. It is so obvious that she was a poor choice and that her deficits are pervasive, so it is not likely she will harm or hurt herself.
The fact that she has shown herself to be so inept and yet immediately said, "Yes, I am ready to serve...." only further reflects her ignorance. At first I found her fascinanting in spite of all of the above; at this point, she's a bore.

Sarah Palin's persona (actual and SNL) has become a caricature. It's hard to think of her as a serious and viable candidate. I saw her on SNL which only highlighted what we already perceive. The ticket is "Mad-TV" and she's "Not ready for prime-time".

Sarah Palin is already thought of as an after thought, joke. Going on SNL so close to voting time and with the country being in a disaster just makes her look like she is mocking politics and the position she is running for and being so non-classy. However, she is thought of as a joke and parody, so I am sure that she fit right in to her role on Saturday Night Live.

Gov.Sarah Palin “IS” found “GUILTY” by The Alaska State Legislature [60] Lawmakers, [Mostly Republicans] .in the Investigation of Firing" The Chief of The Alaska State Public Safety Commissioner, Walt Monegan.
TROOPERGATE: In plain English, Sarah Palin has been legally PROVEN that she broke the Alaska State Ethics Law in ABUSING HER power in pushing for the firing of a State Trooper once married to her sister and by also ALLOWING her husband Todd Palin to use the Alaska Governor's Office in a crusade against the Officer. She is charged with 18 Ethic Violation Facts.
Currently the State of Alaska Personnel Board [appointed by Sara Palin} hired a private Investigator to continue the “Troopergate Investigation” on possible OTHER Ethic Violations which Palin allowed HER appointed Administration to participate in. Sarah Palins appointed State of Alaska, Attorney General Colberg, cannot participate to defend Gov. Palin or to defend her Administration. Why? Because he also is in conflict of interest
ALASKA GOVERNOR RECALL!
I am an Alaskan life voting Republican. This 2008 Election, I will [with pleasure] vote Democrat!
This Alaska Governor Palin has Destroyed and continues to attempt to Destroy "MANY GOOD ALASKAN PEOPLE(s)” Professionally and Politically during her "VERY SHORT" term position as Mayor in a small community Wasilla, Ak (Approx 5,000 + residents during her reign) and currently the Alaska State Governor.
McCain’s V.P. selection Sarah Palin unequivocally has NO business being the Alaska Governor, let alone, a USA Candidate for Vice President…..

Palin is an unendicted criminal who has been found GUILTY of abuse of power by the Alaska state legislature.
ANYTHING she does in the public eye makes McCain look like an idot for picking such a vacuous, self-serving ideologue.
I hope they ROAST her!
