What Will Sen. Grassley Say Next?

We can hardly wait to hear what Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) will say tomorrow about the AIG bailout bonus scandal, considering his comment today about sucking (another word for breasts) and his remarks Monday suggesting AIG executives should resign or "commit suicide."

Following the weekly luncheon of GOP senators today, Grassley went before the TV cameras and clarified his position on the matter. "From my standpoint, it's irresponsible for corporations to give bonuses at this time when they're so - sucking the tit of the taxpayer," he said.

How close do you think his press secretary came to having a heart attack over that one?

Incredibly, incredibly insensitive remark regarding such a sad subject as suicide.

If Grassley disappoints, we know Biden won't - just wait about five minutes.

You must not have much to do, if all you can think of is to point out gaffs -- actually that's a full-time job on both sides of the aisle.

You can't print what he said?

YES, Yes, Yes - the Financial Terrorist who has leashed a Weapon of Mass Destruction on this nation should do three things - First Apologize, Second return the loot / money (Unlike Madoff) and then End their miserable life - like honorable Japanese.

Remember all the corporate management guiding words – meritocracy, Responsibility & Accountability – or are all of these for the “Labor Class”

What do you expect? He's a dairy farmer. The reporter misheard the Senator. The proper ag term is teat.

I'm trying to find the problem with the statement. Is it inaccurate? No. Is it
indicative of the anger of Americans. Yes. Does it use a word that offends a few. Yes. But wouldn't you prefer what Grassley said to him decribing graphically what is being done to Americans and our children's financial futures? Go Grassley. Tell it like it is.

Companies should never have been allowed to become too big to fail. Could 'campaign contributions' be the cause for that?
Company rules should prevent CEO's from placing their own people on the board opf directors.

The reporter heard correctly, but used the forbidden spelling.

Grassley is known as Assley here in Iowa. He's been a clown his whole career. He talks like he has a mouth full of cow crap. The people of Iowa love him though and he'll be easily re-elected next year...

No, the word is very much "tit," and emphatically not the French-derived "teat." The difference? "Tit" is native English, good old Anglo-Saxon, which since Hastings (1066) has played second fiddle to our "more-polite" Gallic tongue. We usually reserve the gutsy Saxon words when we are most passionate or upset, so this was an excellent occasion. For Grassley to use any other word in this context would be like a roofer hitting his thumb with a hammer and crying out, "Oh fudge." Grassley used precisely the right language.

I don't understand why anyone would get their tit in the wringer over this.

Grassley sometimes uses barnyard speech - particularly when dealing with unprincipled animals such as these who created this financial quagmire. Naturally the PC elite who wish to control our every thought and movement are upset. What else did you expect? There is nothing wrong with suicide under the correct circumstances, and this is one of them.

These "vunderkinder" have ruined the lives of millions of good, honest, hardworking people while enriching themselves and creating platinum parachutes for each other. If this were the Titanic they would be far away on the lifeboats before they let the rest of us know the ship was sinking. And that's pretty much what they did, isn't it!? Just one great big bunch of Bernie Maddofs is all they are.

Maybe Congress should apologize or go take a giant leap off the Bridge to Nowhere.

Each day brings more clever sayins, that describe the dealings of the "Elite." It is worse, than we think. This is just the tip of the Ice Berg. What lies beneath is unmentionable.

What are you, six years old? The word is spelled 'teat' and can be pronounced 'teet' or 'tit'. It is not "another word for breast." It is the part of the mammary gland (all mammals have them) through which nourishment is provided to offspring. For instance, bovids (sheep, cows, etc) have udders, an organ with multiple teats. Humans have breasts, organs with a single teat.

It is not a dirty word and is only tangentially sexual.

Grow up.

When it comes to politicians who love to display their mental illnesses every time they speak, Grassley is a strong contender for the gold medal.
His recent idiotic comments suggested, with no basis in fact, that a more relaxed governmental attitude about personal marijuana use (including medical marijuana) would lead to an increase in methamphetamine abuse. Then his extremely perceptive & compassionate comments on the issue of suicide insulted every person who's ever been depressed. Now he shows us his extensive knowledge of sex with his anatomic analysis of AIG's relationship with the US govt.
This same man, Charles Grassley, has been single-handedly fighting a war he declared on the American Psychiatric Association. The major effect of the Grassley jihad has been to increase the incidence of patients who are not receiving treatment for their depression & other mental illnesses. All that accomplishes is to lead to more disability, medical illness, & avoidable, premature deaths. Grassley is DANGEROUS !!!

As if it matters much, "teat" is pronounced as "teet". "Tit" is pronounced as "tit" and is considered vulgar slang. Aside from that, I agree with Grassley's short comment in the YouTube video. The bonuses are irresponsible and these people need to stop acting as if they are entitled...this would be true even if we were not in a serious, world-crippling recession.

Almost as bad as some of Joe Biden's stupid remarks.
