Rupert Murdoch Wines and Dines GOP Pals

Rupert Murdoch sure does cover his bases.

The world's premiere media mogul, who accurately predicted a Democratic landslide in 2008, dined last night with a group of House GOP heavyweights at the chichi CityZen restaurant in the Mandarin Oriental hotel.

Murdoch was spotted sitting with House Republican Whip Eric Cantor and Reps. Adam Putnam (Fla.), Tom Price (Ga.), who chairs the conservative House Republican Study Committee, and Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington state, vice chair of the House Republican Conference.

They were overheard chatting about everything from the G-20 summit and monetary policy to - what else? - entertainment and the ailing media industry, as well as the beleaguered stock market.

One issue in particular that Murdoch and Cantor share is Britney Spears. Cantor recently held a fundraiser at the pop star's S&M-esque "Circus" tour concert in Washington; and, of course, Murdoch's tabloids have sold many a paper splashing Brit Brit's personal sagas on its covers and gossip pages. But the subject did not come up during dinner, we're told.

Murdoch's News Corp spent more than $7.5 million last year lobbying Congress on a whole range of issues relating to communications, media and trade issues. So a little face time with powerful Republicans who are in a position to fight Democratic threats to raise taxes on the wealthy and corporations is smart social networking by the owner of MySpace.

Interesting that Murdoch has a media company which is making money and holding an audience. I for one, started boycotting many newspapers in my travels around the nation because of their liberal bias. Why pay for that garbage? Some say we need newspaper to keep a watch on our government. Excuse me, but aren' these the same reporters so in love with the Democrats that they wonder why conservatives do not want to buy their crappy stories?

What's he holding them with? Lies, hate, racism and anti-americanism draped in the stars and stripes. The journalistic pornography he sells (Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly) appeals to the ill of mind and their inner hatred.

Murdoch's news "ownership" needs to be broken. For those who think the MSM is "liberal;" try learning how to CRITICALLY read! You are probably the ones who still think that Ronald Reagan was a great POTUS!
