New Mama in the House: Linda Sanchez
Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) delivered a baby boy, her first child, Wednesday morning in Washington, beating her due date by a week.
Joaquin Sánchez Sullivan weighed in at 7 pounds, 14.6 ounces and was 20.6 inches long, according to a statement from her office.
"I couldn't be happier," Sánchez declared.
Her new husband, Jim "Sully" Sullivan, who she married last month, said, "Linda and I have been blessed with a beautiful baby boy. Mother and baby are both healthy and happy. Joaquin's arrival is a long awaited welcome in our lives and we are richer because of it."
Sanchez, 40, was not yet married when she announced her pregnancy last November. She would have been the first single member of the House to deliver a baby while in office.
Congress's newest mommy has been staying in Washington for the past month, working right up to the birth of her baby, her spokeswoman tells us.

Congratulations to Linda Sanchez, but please correct the front page link: it says SLUETH.
Do you guys ever spell check?? Your front page typos are almost as bad as those on the blogs.

Whether or not Sanchez needed to get married may be a non-story but the juxtaposition of her delivery with this other story is certainly interesting
