17 Business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs from Spotsylvania County and environs are invited to the Entrepreneur Express: Moving Your Business Forward, a hands-on workshop designed to deliver information on business resources. The free event is coordinated by the Virginia Department of Business Assistance and sponsored by the Spotsylvania County Department of Economic Development. Pre-registration is requested. 18 The Innovation Economy, known as TiE, is holding an event from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the Wheaton Business Innovation Center on "Going the First Mile: Taking Advantage of the SBA."
20-22 Entrepreneur networking group Yes Circle is hosting a retreat at the Rising Phoenix Retreat Center in Flintstone, Md. Fees run from $575 to $750. 23 Author and psychologist Bob Rosen will discuss his book: "Just Enough Anxiety: The Hidden Driver of Business Success" at 7 p.m. at the Central Library in Arlington, Va. Books will be available for sale and signing.
30 CDW, a technology products and services company, has unveiled a tech makeover contest that will award an IT overhaul worth $50,000 to three small businesses that have up to 50 employees each. Submissions will be accepted through Monday, June 30. Details of the contest are available here.
