Ylan's Cheapskate Afternoon

After this morning's splurge, I have shown remarkable restraint. I brown-bagged it today (chicken sandwich, strawberries, Dole fruit cup), so I didn't have to spend any more money on lunch.
But then the snackies hit. It happens every afternoon at about 2 or 3. My stomach starts rumbling, and I start rummaging through my snack drawer at my desk. Granola bars? Already had one this morning. Mini popcorn bags? Ate the last one yesterday. One hundred calorie Oreo snack pack? Need something more substantial.
I need to start packing a bigger lunch.
So I headed down to our cafeteria and scoured the options. I settled on two buffalo chicken tenders for $1.71. About the same as a cup of coffee, right?
I also generously loaned my podmate Binyamin Appelbaum $1.25 so that he could buy an orange Fanta from the vending machine. I may be frugal, but I am still a good friend!
Here's my afternoon tally:
Chicken tenders: $1.71
Vending machine loan: $1.25
Total: $2.96
Morning total + Afternoon total = $28.26
