I think it's great!
I would suggest a more imaginative name, though. "Soccer Insider" is what everyone's column/blog is called.
How about Göffblög (notice the umlauts, that's the creativity)?

I am so happy to see this new blog's birth. Hurray for soccer. Here's a random observation. Do you notice that more than any other sport. Fans of U.S. soccer are also players too, on any level. You can't say that for American Football, Baseball etc. I think this is why the devotion to the sport is so strong among its fans.
