Quick DCU Update
On the eve of the Olimpia match, not a very eventful DCU practice, other than the appearance of Sports Bog boy Steinberg, who will entertain you with his offbeat insights on his blog this afternoon. You won't want to miss it.
I'm working on my game preview, but felt I should pass along a couple quick inconsequential comments from Tom Soehn.
On the RFK field conditions after last weekend's snow and the conversion from baseball diamond to soccer pitch: "It's pretty good. I'm happily surprised that it's in great condition. There is one area in a corner that doesn't get a lot of sun that is still pretty hard. Hopefully they'll address that, but otherwise it's in great shape. The grounds crew has done a great job."
On whether trialists Welton Silva and Jamil Fearrington will play in next Friday's friendly vs. Honduran club Motagua in South Florida: "We'll see. They're going to have to earn it. We'll take a good look at them in training and then make a decision."
On what he knows about Fearrington: "We don't know much. It's a trial, that's all. We've got to see if he can help us and then make a decision."
Much more in tomorrow's print editions and on the main sports page at washingtonpost.com this evening.
