Updates Updates and Updates

Just got off the phone with Dave Kasper.

He says:

-- On the search for another goalie, "I think something will be done this week." Seems to me the club is trying to sign a free agent or someone from the second division and, if it doesn't work out, they'll explore a trade for an MLS keeper (Conway?).

-- Perkins's new contract is about to be finalized. The club is also still hopeful to work out a new deal for Gomez. They're also talking to Moreno about restructuring his contract.

-- He attended that wild QPR-China under-23 game/brawl last week as part of an informal scouting mission.

-- DCU has "NOT had any discussions" with Chelsea about a marketing deal. "None." I've heard differently, but Kasper has never lied to me, so we'll have to take his word for it.

-- Kasali Yinka Casal's availability for the Olimpia opener "is going to be tight" because of work visas, international clearance, etc.
