The Aftermath (It Ain't Pretty)

Well, look at it this way: Toronto hasn't won either and they haven't even scored a goal. So DCU has got that going for them, which is nice. ;-)

I'll pass along my player ratings first. And then you can read some bonus quotes at the bottom. My game report with quotes can be found at

Perkins 4
Namoff 5
Boswell 5
McTavish 5
Gros 5
Fred 7
Gomez 4
Olsen 6
Carroll 3
Moreno 4
Emilio 4
Subs: Moose 6, Addlery 4, Casal 5

Overall, I think our team was better. Unfortunately the result was the same, so it's back to work.
(On the giveaway leading to the goal) That's what has been punishing us. We had a lot less of it today, but we still had one and it cost us.
(On removing Carroll) Moose has looked good all week. It was time to give him a shot. I thought he energized the game when he came in.
(On Fred) I thought he had a great day.
Overall as a team, I thought we defended better. Are there things to work on? Absolutely. So it was a step in the right direction, but the result was the same.
We had our chances. Good teams finish chances, and we didn't finish our chances.
(On the team's play after the delay) We could've played a few more balls forward. You're looking to get one back and you don't have a lot of time to do it and we need to dump some balls in there and on a wet, sloppy day you're going to get something out of it. I thought we could have been a little bit more urgent toward the end.
It's very disappointing because we worked so hard for the last 12 weeks. To start like this, it seems like we didn't work hard in preseason.
The second half we had the urgency to come out and maybe tie the game. We didn't create many clear chances, but at least we had the ball more. We've just got to play as a team; right now we're not playing as a team. It seems like we're trying to do our thing - we're expecting Luciano to score, somebody to score for us, for Bobby just to defend. We've got to defend as a team and go forward as a team.
We've just got to go back to where we were and learn how to win again because we've lost that.
I felt like defensively we were much better, and that's a positive out of this thing. It's just important we go forward. I thought the defense played with more of a chip on its shoulder and we were pretty compact for the most part.
They get a goal, and it's the same old story. They pack it in and we couldn't get any fortune down at the other end.
Once again, I've got to make a [bleeping] save. It's as simple as that. There's nothing else to say.
