Media Matters

D.C. United is off today, but maybe some news or updates later. Lots of rumblings in MLS. Hope to find out more later.

Meantime, for DCU fans, be sure to program your DVR/TiVo/VCR for "Washington Post Live" on Comcast SportsNet this week. Ben Olsen will appear Wednesday to break down his hat trick on a telestrator and Brian Carroll will be on Thursday. As always, the show begins at 5 p.m. and is also available via streaming online video on the sports front at www.washingtonpost.com.

Me? I'll be conducting a live online chat on washingtonpost.com at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Submit your questions here.

Soccer on TV tonight: USA-El Salvador on Fox Soccer Channel and Telefutura at 7 p.m. and T&T-Guatemala on Telefutura at 9:15.

U.S. Open Cup first round tonight: Crystal Palace USA at Ocean City (N.J.) Barons and Aegean Hawks (amateur team from Arlington) at Harrisburg City Islanders. Although the long-term pairings have not been set, one of these clubs will likely face D.C. United in the round of 16 next month. Later this week, the USSF will announce the potential round-of-16 pairings and sites. United has proposed hosting July 10 at Maryland SoccerPlex. Also, the USL Web site will show three Open Cup games on live video for free tonight.
