Moreno Departs for Copa

This just in.....

United captain Jaime Moreno has been officially called up by Bolivia for Copa America and will depart Washington this week to begin training with his compatriots. He will miss at least four MLS matches: vs. Chicago on Saturday, at RSL June 23, vs. Colorado on June 28 and at Kansas City on July 4. If Bolivia advances out of group play with Venezuela, Uruguay and Peru, he would miss one or two additional games.

So what should Tom Soehn do with his lineup and formation? Simply start Emilio and Kpene (when healthy) up front? Move Fred into Moreno's withdrawn forward role? Give Addlery another chance as a starter? Turn scoring machine Olsen into a striker? :-)

FYI, United is also encouraged by Dyachenko's recent progress and sees him as an option at forward.

Your thoughts are welcome here.....

P.S. Olsen has been selected MLS player of the week (big surprise).

P.P.S. The U.S. national team has until June 21 to name its Copa roster. Olsen and Boswell appear to be United's only candidates, but that could change.
