United News and Notes

*Bryan Namoff did not practice again because of a hamstring injury and will be a game-time decision tomorrow for the Colorado match. My hunch is that he will not play, further depleting United's defensive corps. "We're being cautious," Coach Tom Soehn said. "We'll see how he responds."

*Josh Gros suffered a broken left wrist during the first half of Saturday's game at Real Salt Lake and is wearing a cast. He will be able to play vs. the Rapids. He has broken his right wrist three times. "I drink milk," Gros said. "It's just the way it goes -- unlucky."

*Kasali Yinka Casal did not make Nigeria's roster for the Under-20 World Cup and will return to Washington this week.

*I tried to get a USA-Argentina prediction out of Christian Gomez, but he wasn't biting. "I am hoping for a good match. I understand the U.S. has taken a lot of players from MLS, so in that regard I hope they do well, but being from Argentina, my heart is with my team and obviously I am hoping for an Argentina victory."

More team news and how they will adjust without Olsen, Moreno and Boswell in my Thursday story in the print edition and on washingtonpost.com.

My chat on washingtonpost.com begins at 1 p.m. Please join me.

I'll be back here later with more news (maybe).
