DCU Injury Update

[UPDATED!]

Bryan Namoff and Guy-Roland Kpene (hamstring injuries) were limited to individual workouts at training this morning and did not participate in regular practice. While Namoff will not travel with the team to the U.S. Open Cup match Wednesday at Harrisburg, Kpene will be among 17 players heading north. It seems unlikely he will start, however. Tom Soehn declined to reveal the traveling party, saying only that "it's going to be a great opportunity for the young guys."

Goff,

I believe you said that there was suppose to be a trialist from Brazil. Vagner? When does his trial begin?

Goff-

I noticed that the MLS Primetime game this week was (another) Houston game-it seems like the Dynamo and FC Dallas have their games shown more often, was that due to scheduling conflicts with other teams?

Steven,

Which combo of Vanney, Boswell and McTavish will we see in the center up in PA?

I'm guessing we won't be using Vanney, who only missed time in Colorado when he had a bad ankle sprain. With McTavish's recent play, I don't think it would be wise to ask Vanney (at 33) to play 3 times in a week.

With McTavish in the middle, though, you need a right back. I feel like Simms will be the DM (giving BC a rest), so who comes in? Can Carroll the younger play outside back? Can Mediate?

Pretty sure the J. Carroll can play outside back. He's DCU's own Mathieu Flamini.

And Mediate is more of a midfielder that can drop back if needed.

Vagner's trial is tentatively set to begin Friday.

I'm guessing Boswell and McTavish in the middle, but who knows...

Mediate might end up at right back. We'll see tomorrow...

Thanks for the info. Goff!

I should have phrased it differently. I was wondering if Soehn saw Mediate as an option at right back (which is a different question than "Can he play right back?").

It will be good to see Kpene back as an option. Moreno's return still means we will often have to sub him off, so hopefully Kpene will be back at 100% soon.

How long is the club thinking Namoff will be out? It seems like he's been out forever already.
