RSL Looking in Argentina?
I am hearing that Real Salt Lake Coach Jason Kreis has taken a strong interest in the Argentine player market and has identified at least two players to possibly pursue. They are:
*Edgar Espinola, a young forward who, I believe, is with the Boca Juniors reserves
and
*Javier Morales, a 26/27-year-old central midfielder who was with Lanus several years ago and played for UD Vecindario in Spain's second division this past season
Now this does not mean a signing is imminent (at least I don't think it does). Just a couple players on the RSL radar.
If anyone has any additional insight into these guys or has seen anything about them moving anywhere this summer, please share it here.

Not the Argentine and not the team we want to hear rumors about, but thanks.
Adu to Benfica?

Interesting. I guess every MLS team is trying to add players except DCU.

I do love the fact that MLS is strongly scouting Argentina and Sout America, but why not the rest of the world? Just a little curious, thats all

If the player if from the Boca reserves, I believe the player is Edgar Fabian Espindola. Notice the spelling is different from what you have here.

So is Adu going to Benfica or what? Come on Goffer! And how much $ would DC get? Sorry to ask again, I've forgotten.

Check the "Aftermath" post, towards the bottom. Goff answers it there.

I was asking about Adu because Ives G. is reporting today that the deal looks done. So if there's an update...

I think part of the reason for the extra focus on players from Arg, is the favorable (for US) exchange rate, it makes MLS salaries a little more competitive.

So no Jay Jay for RSL?

Jay-Jay Talks are basically dead because of visa complications.

Can't wait to see how Kries and RSL screw the pooch on this one.
It's like watching old Three Stooges clips. You know they're going to do something stupid, and it's going to be hilarious.

Goff - do you mean Edgar EspÃndola? He played 6 times for Boca last season and scored 1 goal.

in ´05/´06, EspÃndola played like 10 reserve matches for Boca and scored like 4 or 5 goals.... (Sorry, not that accurate, but that is a rough count from looking at the Boca Jrs Reserves)

RSL is obviously going after Maradonna.

A little more digging, and it seems that Edgar EspÃndola transferred from Boca to Talleres last year at some point. After that, I am not really certain where he went....

MFF you are just complaining because you are the only team, until last night that RSL has beaten! LOL. Where does that put you guys?!?!? ROFL!
