Finally, some official word from the DCU front office about its possible pursuit of Veron. It's not much, but it's something. Are you ready? Okay, hold on, here goes.....

"I have nothing to comment on," Dave Kasper said.

Read into that what you will.

Others familiar with the situation said nothing will happen this weekend. Something is up, but it remains to be seen whether the money is there for DCU to acquire a player of Veron's stature.

Meantime, on another note, there is important Poplar Point news. The Post's Metro section folks are working on the story this evening. I will provide a link as soon as washingtonpost.com posts it.
