"These Go to 11"

The volume went to 11 Tuesday night in Frisco. And Spinal Tap's Nigel Tufnel was nowhere in sight.

Galaxy 6, FC Dallas 5.

No, that's not the score of the penalty kick shootout.

Four goals in the first 18 minutes. Six goals in the final 18 minutes, including three during nearly seven minutes of added time. Landon Donovan had a goal, three assists and a very uncool throat-slashing gesture directed at the crowd. (Paging Mr. Donovan, there's a Mr. Garber on Line 1. He'd like his $1,000 now.)

Dallas outshot L.A. 25-8 overall, but the Galaxy converted six of its seven shots on goal. Just look at the ridiculous box score! Does the MISL have a SuperLiga?

Now don't get me wrong, I love a few goals as much as anyone, but this was ridiculous. The defending was horrific -- not just the technique, but the effort as well. If a couple calls had gone another way and the beleaguered goalkeepers had not turned in a few gems, the result could just have easily been 10-9.

Here are your wild video highlights. If you enjoy Telefutura's emphatic goal calls, you're going to really enjoy the clip.

Congrats to the Galaxy, which, by reaching the SuperLiga semifinals in two weeks, now has matches set for Aug. 5, Aug. 9, Aug. 12, Aug. 14, Aug. 18, Aug. 23, Aug. 26 and, if it reaches the tournament final, Aug. 29.

And you think Beckham's ankle is sore now.....
