MLS Salary Updates
Drum roll please.....
Denilson, Dallas: $872,736 base salary/873,336 guaranteed (I'm sure he's thankful for that extra $600!) By the way, from what I hear, his number will skyrocket next season, if Dallas decides to pick up his option.
Wilman Conde, Chicago: $144,000/151,500
Javier Morales, RSL: 120,000/120,000
Edgar Espindola, RSL: 72,000/72,000
Matias Mantilla, RSL: 48,000/48,000
Francis Doe, New York: 48,000/48,000
Israel Sesay, L.A.: 45,000/57,083
These numbers are based on annual salary figures, and since it is late in the season, the actual payout this year is significantly adjusted.
And this just in from the Revs' communications dept.....
The New England Revolution announced today that Sainey Nyassi, a member of Gambia's 2007 Under-20 World Cup squad, has signed with Major League Soccer to play for the Revs. Per MLS and club policies, terms of the deal were not released. A midfielder, Nyassi will occupy one of the Revs' youth international roster spots. Additionally, the Revolution announced that Arsene Oka and Ryan Solle have been released, and that the team had obtained FC Dallas' natural first-round selection in the 2008 Supplemental Draft in exchange for salary budget considerations.
No word on Nyassi's salary. Solle and Oka were developmental players earning $17,700 and $12,900 respectively. The Revs have also been negotiating with Gambian under-20 Abdoulie Mansally.
