Boo!
To celebrate Halloween, I pose this spooky question: Is D.C. United in for a trick or a treat tomorrow night? Will it be another frightful evening of playoff soccer at Estadio RFK? Or have they exorcised the demons of seasons past and are on their way to a sweet ending?
While you consider the possibilities, please read today's story on the injury situation and the reaction in Brazil to the country being awarded the 2014 World Cup.
I leave you with some Iggy Pop (accompanied by the B-52's Kate Pierson). The tune is "Candy," and although James Newell Osterberg Jr. (his birth name) was surely writing about a girl (or a narcotic), the title and lyrics fit nicely into our ghoulish Halloween theme:
Candy, candy, candy I can't let you go
All my life you're haunting me
I loved you so
Candy, candy, candy I can't let you go
Life is crazy
