France and Philly, New England and New Jersey
*D.C. United folks tell me that midfielder Andrew Jacobson, the club's second-round draft pick out of Cal who has been training with Lorient in France, will join United in Bradenton tomorrow. No other details on his status (MLS contract, overseas options, etc.) available at this time.
*Thanks to the Pennsylvania state legislature, the Philadelphia area appears to have moved ahead of St. Louis in the effort to secure MLS's 16th club. Sources tell me that the Ben Franklin impersonator who appeared at the draft on behalf of the Philly supporters was the key to the city's campaign. ;-)
*As we told you earlier, New England's Steve Nicol is in Honduras on a scouting mission. I've been told that, no, the Revs are not considering Amado Guevara. I've also been told that Nicol is planning to visit another Central American country to check on a potential recruit.
*In case you have not seen it yet, click here to view the new jersey to be worn by the U.S. national team.
