Kalou Is Cool
Eerily quiet at the moment on the MLS front. Expect some news later today. Probably.
I do know that.....
.....New England and Columbus are engaged in trade talks.
.....El Salvador might play a World Cup qualifier in the United States but not against the United States.
.....the proposed D.C. United friendly against Libya's national team in Tripoli was looking as if it would finally happen next month, but the deal fell through last week. The game was going to be supported with State Department involvement and DCU did everything on its part to make it happen, I am told, but the Libyans waited too long to agree to a deal. Next February is the next target date. Hello, Muammar?
.....Peruvian goalkeeper Jose Carvallo tells El Bocon in Peru that he is flying to the United States today to join D.C. United. He also mentions his U.S. green card, which the Insider reported last week. He is eligible for it because his mother lives in Virginia.
Meantime, enjoy Solomon Kalou's magical goal in Ivory Coast's 1-0 victory over Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations. Today's matches: Egypt-Cameroon, Sudan-Zambia.
