D.C. United Updates

Just a couple quick items involving defenders from GM Dave Kasper.....

*Gonzalo Peralta, the club's new Argentine defender who left training camp for personal reasons, will rejoin the team at some point during the 10-day California phase of preseason, which starts Friday. "Nothing to worry about," Kasper said.

*Jay Needham, the SMU defender who spurned DCU's contract offer last winter and signed with the USL1's Puerto Rico Islanders, has been given permission to work out with the Los Angeles Galaxy. No other details, but it's safe to assume that, if the Galaxy really likes him, it will attempt to trade with DCU for his MLS rights.

On a side note, Sunil Gulati talks to the BBC about the prospects of Premier League matches on U.S. soil.

Be back later.....
