Hello, Is There Anybody In There?

Sorry for the absence. I'm in a holding pattern on a few things. Hope to rejoin you later today. Feel free to discuss Champions League matches or any other futbol topics.

Or rock 'n' roll.

Sincerely,
Comfortably Numb

I've actually just gotten into a band from Spain that was a little popular in the 90s.

I'd just like to share it with yall:

I assume Sharp is referring to "More Than a Feeling" by Boston. I think Tarantino permanently ruined "Hooked on a Feeling" for anyone who wasn't alive when it was popular the first time.

Come to think of it, didn't Hasselhoff also ruin "Hooked on a Feeling"?

The great thing about Goff is that you know when he is stalling it's because he is trying to get some real information that he can break -- perhaps the name of the rumored Revs DP, or some other signing.

Either that or he is watching Wizard of Oz while listening to Dark Side of the Moon.

Three comments -

1) Donde esta mi Goffinho? Mi Goffhino es mi corazon.

2) Cheers to the guy who put Hootie as his top song - as a South Carolinian, we love our HatB.

3) "Night Moves" by Bob Seger. No doubt.

Best Band Ever to cover Comfortably Numb (and maybe anyway): Queensryche.
They did it with Dream Theater on tour, a darn fine cover.

I know Dale Jr is heavy into Adidas now, why ask if he's a Dynamo fan?

Because they apparently read this blog, I'd suggest a song from Tool.

Speaking of Comfortably Numb, I'm in Costa Rica at the moment and none of the fine bars around here is sure AC Milan v Arsenal is going to be on TV tommorrow.

Are there any fine Insider Loyalists that can tell me what is going to be on ESPN, ESPN 2 on Weds?

The ESPN website says Champions League and thats it.

Posted by: Tweaked | February 19, 2008 2:57 PM | Report abuse

Not a mention of "Can I Borrow A Feeling?" by Kirk van Houten?

"Can I borrow a feeling?
Can you lend me a jar of love?
Hurtin' hearts need some healing.
Take my hand with your glove of love!"

When Starla destroyed that demo tape, she robbed the world of a global anthem.

The greatest cover of "Comfortably Numb" was by the Scissor Sisters. You've gotta have balls to cover Floyd, and you've gotta have big, brass balls to make their song sound exactly like a BeeGees tune. But you've gotta have tremendous talent to pull that off. Hats off to Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, and co.

Also: if Ayn Rand liked football, which team would she support? Man Utd is my guess.

If she liked rock music, Rush would be her favorite band, and Pink Floyd would be far down the list.

I started reading this list from the bottom, and found plenty of good stuff in the high 800's: the first albums by It's a Beautiful Day and Blood, Sweat and Tears, the Hair original score, etc. This stuff will last longer than a lot of the more recent stuff.

Rand was dismissive of all rock music. I have no idea whether she learned of her influence on the members of Rush before her death in 1982, and whether it would have caused her to modify her views if she had.
