Ice, Ice, Baby
Welcome back to town, D.C. United boys. Hope you enjoyed your time in warm, sunny Bradenton. Now let's see your fancy footwork on the layer of ice that smothered the Washington area last night! Welcome to our world.
Of course, you are off to Camarillo, Calif. (just north of L.A.) on Friday and we're stuck with this wintry stuff for a few more weeks. Grrr.....
Here's what we know, and it ain't much.
*Remember when DCU officials confirmed last month that Josh Gardner, a former MLSer who played for USL Seattle last year, was starting a trial with the club and vying for a left-side midfield reserve role on the roster? We had not heard a word about him, so I asked the bosses what was going on. Apparently, he suffered an injury and skipped the Florida training camp but will rejoin United in California. So now you know.
*The Koreas, Norte and Sud, are having issues over anthems. Better that than the alternatives like, say, the border.
*Ronaldo is linked with a move to MLS...again. Yawn. As Insider loyalist Brenden in Buenos Aires commented, "He's hurt, he's always hurt, so let's pawn him off on another club. How about... MLS!"
*Here's Bryan Arguez in his Hertha Berlin kit.
*Funny stuff in Norway from reunited teammates Adin Brown and Pat Noonan. Click here to watch the video.
