Games and Claims

I am hearing that.....

*D.C. United has finalized its local TV package with Comcast SportsNet. Overall, 29 of 30 regular season matches will be available either through Comcast or national outlets (ESPN2, ABC, Telefutura, Fox Soccer Channel). The only exception is the home opener April 5 vs. Toronto, which can be seen only on pay-per-view and online.

*Other MLS teams were interested in Santino Quaranta, but DCU was first to file a discovery claim. His trial continues in San Antonio this week, with the club planning to make a decision about his future by Monday.

*Kelly Gray is the only player being "widely discussed" as a target for teams in the MLS waiver draft this afternoon. We'll see if he, or anyone else, is selected.

*USA-England at Wembley on May 28 is looking more likely, but still no final deal. USA-Argentina June 8 in the northeast U.S. continues to be discussed. Washington and Foxborough are out, which realistically leaves New York and Philadelphia as possible venues. Argentina also wants to play Mexico on June 4 in San Diego.
