Kick It

D.C. United will play its annual friendly with the Richmond Kickers (USL2) tonight at 7 p.m. at UR Stadium, though it is unclear whether the series will continue. United will bring primarily reserves and a few regulars, including Clyde Simms, Marc Burch and perhaps Devon McTavish.

I will not be there, but if you are, please share your thoughts about the match here.

Any other Saturday game discussion is welcome as well.

On the under-23 team front, Freddy Adu, Sal Zizzo, Jonathan Spector and Charlie Davies have left Nashville to return to Europe and will not play in Sunday's meaningless final against Honduras. Don't be surprised if most, if not all of them, are named to the national team roster for Wednesday's friendly at Poland. That list will be unveiled Sunday or Monday morning.

In case you missed it the other night, Saprissa (Costa Rica) routed visiting Atlante (Mexico), 3-0, to win their Champions' Cup quarterfinal series on 4-2 aggregate. They'll face Houston in the semis, starting April 2 at Robertson Stadium. DCU will visit defending champion Pachuca one day earlier and host the second leg at Estadio RFK on April 9.
