Owning Up to an Equalizer

*We feel John Arne Riise's pain after his own-goal-heard-round-the-world during added time yesterday in Liverpool's 1-1 loss draw with visiting Chelsea. We really do. Rest assured, the Norwegian defender has had better days. Here are a few of 'em:

Today's match: Manchester United at Barcelona (2:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2). This will get you ready:

*Meanwhile, on a much smaller scale, the CONCACAF Champions' Cup finals get under way tonight in San Jose, Costa Rica, with Saprissa hosting defending champion Pachuca (10:30 p.m. ET, Fox Soccer Channel).

*I hear MLS deputy commissioner Ivan Gazidis is soon headed to Argentina, the favorite destination of the league's coaches and general managers these days. His mission is primarily public relations and meeting with the Argentine media, which has taken an increased interest in MLS with the arrival of several high-profile players (Gallardo, Lopez, Schelotto, etc.) the past couple years. Gazidis is expected to attend the Boca-River match on May 4.

United-Barcelona predictions? I'll go with 1-0, Barca.

This is the place for your pregame, in-game and postgame thoughts. Barring any breaking news, I'm going to try to avoid the laptop most of the day.
