Yi Retires

Defender Alex Yi, who grew up in the Baltimore-Washington area and spent time in Belgium before joining FC Dallas, has decided to retire. Yi, 26, was a product of the Bradenton Academy and represented the United States at the U-17, U-20 and U-23 levels. He played three full seasons for Dallas (21 starts), but struggled to overcome hamstring injuries.

Meantime, Dallas is looking at left-side defender-midfielder Sheldon Emmanuel from St. Lucia. He plays for Caledonia in Trinidad and Tobago. If interested, the club would need to free up an international roster spot.
