DCU Update
I don't anticipate any major lineup shifts tomorrow against Houston, other than Gonzalo Peralta returning to the backline in place of Domenic Mediate.
Here's a developing storyline: Fred's wife is due to give birth soon -- Monday, to be exact. As you'll recall, Peralta missed two recent road matches during the late stages of his wife's pregnancy. Is Coach Tom Soehn worried about losing his left wing tomorrow night or Saturday at Chicago?
"Unless his wife plans on having a baby during the game, I hope not," Soehn said. "I put a clause in his contract: No babies during games."
"You never know. Every situation is different," said the coach with four children. "Some are late, some are early. Mine were always late. We let them get a little bigger."
I will address DCU's goalkeeping situation in Wednesday's print editions (available online late tonight), but for more offbeat material from training, be sure to check Dan Steinberg's Sports Bog regularly this afternoon.
