Matchnight: United-Wizards

Greetings from Estadio RFK.

It wouldn't be a DCU home match without the threat of severe weather, now would it? Everything was fine on my drive to the Duomo on the Anacostia, but upon arrival, the rain began to fall and interrupt the Latin Festival in Lot 8. There is a permanent cloud over RFK, literally and figuratively.

Update: At 5:30, there is simultaneous bright sunshine and heavy rain.

Update: At 6:30, it's gorgeous. Go figure.

DCU: Wells; Namoff, McTavish, P. Carroll, Burch; Fred, Simms, Vide, Guerrero; Moreno, Emilio. Subs: Thorpe, Thompson, Zaher, Kirk, Murphy, Cordeiro, Dyachenko.

TV Notes: Bruce Arena is in the house working the KC broadcast booth. Thomas Rongen had travel delays returning from Europe, which means Dave Johnson will be on his own for much, if not all, of the local Comcast SportsNet coverage.

Don't forget to drop by the RFK training grounds tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. for the reserve match between the clubs.

As usual, this is the gathering point for pregame, in-game and postgame banter.
