Noonan's Return

Forward Pat Noonan, who left New England last winter to sign with Aalesunds in Norway, is about to re-sign with the Revs. However, he is unlikely to play for them.

From what I'm hearing this evening, a contract agreement should be in place in the coming days. The Revs then plan to trade Noonan to one of the four or five teams that have expressed interest in him. My understanding is that D.C. United is not among them.

One source said the probability of Noonan signing with MLS is 95 percent and the chances of a trade are about the same. If Noonan is moved, the Revs might end up signing a Central American player this month. I have not heard the names or positions of any potential candidates.

Noonan, 28, had 37 goals and 29 assists in 119 regular season appearances for New England between 2003 and 2007.

Where do you think Noonan will end up?
