Estudiantes Advances
Estudiantes, captained by Juan Sebastian Veron, reaches the Copa Sudamericana finals by defeating Argentinos Juniors, 1-0, for a 2-1 aggregate victory. It will be Argentina (Estudiantes) vs. Brazil (Internacional) for the championship.

I'm sure all of us DCU fans take great pride in Veron's accomplishments -- but, I thought he was sticking around to help Estudiantes win Copa Libertadores, not the also-ran tourney...

One has to wonder how different DC United's season would have been had they signed Veron instead of Gallardo.
