Access to Freedom
The Washington Freedom will open training camp Sunday at Maryland SoccerPlex, and the public is welcome to watch the session. It is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at Field #20 (artificial turf). The weather could dictate changes. Check the club's Web site for more information. All sessions next week will be open to the public.

Nothing to do with the Freedom but of interest for the NOVA women soccer fans. Amy Smerdzinski (Chantilly High, Wake Forrest, RFC/Chantilly Milan) played a couple of games for the USW U23 team this winter and is now trying out for the St. Louis team.

The Freedom were scrimmaging on Field #20 at SoccerPlex this morning. I watched for a bit on my way to play "drop in" soccer indoors. I was told that Abby Wambach will report tomorrow.

Shoot. If the weather holds up, I could head there for a little while and then zip back to CP to see DCU & the Terpies.
I hope that the weather isn't nasty on Sunday.
