just when Honduras was becoming the trendy pick, CR goes and shows us that one ought not write them off. I'm thinking there is pretty good quality across the board in the hex and that no one should take any match lightly. That makes last night's 3 points all the more valuable.

by the way, I went through a bunch of Mexican newspapers on-line and was stunned to find a near total absence of whining and complaining. It was essentially, "we got beat and it's no one's fault but ours." A far cry from the Sanchez and LaVolpe days....

wow, that was some shoddy goalkeeping in the T&T/ES game. and the Soca Warriors really missed some chances to salt that game away. that missed PK has to be one of the worst i've ever seen. and then there's that first ES goal on the free kick....ugh.

El Salvador came back? wow.

Laughing at the coachs reaction on missed PK!
You know the player is on the bench next game lol
Great free kick goal on the first one!

Good to see ES recover, hopefully it will push to get better results.

Old man Yorke played!

T&T left points on the table there. What a blown breakaway, and sky-high PK...

Friendly SI reader pool...

Who's the first to leave North America this week, Becks or Sven? Clock is ticking for both.

Yeah, what shoddy goalkeeping on some of these teams! Even Dirty Sanchez had a semi-howler last night on MB's 2nd, although he did have a few good saves last night.

Although it was be a huge, huge surprise if we didn't qualify, it's good to see other games tied, as potential points for those teams are lost.

How often have you seen a goal keeper... nutmeged... on a header... for a goal?

Posted by: TCompton | February 12, 2009 12:47 PM | Report abuse

Wow -- T&T manages to take what should have been an easy 4-0 win and turn it into a 2-2 tie. Plenty of blame to go around in that one...

Predictions on final points? I'm going with:

Costa Rica
El Salvador

Pelosi got $30 million in the spending bill for mice research in San Francisco. Any luck Hoyer got $30 million for a SSS in PG County?

Hey Goff,

So did you find out anything about what i asked a couple threads ago? Not trying to be bothersome, just curious!

Also Goff,

What was the real outcome of Gallardo leaving? Did we just let him leave on a free transfer? Or did he buy out a portion of his contract/ Did river? Or in other words did we get a refund of some of his 1.9 mil' we got?

And also what a cowardly slap Paco Ramirez had, i cant believe that Bracamontes commentator was calling out Hejduk on not reacting more and being so timid!!! I HATE THAT GUY! HES such a a Mexican Pro' screw everyone else, even in the copa libertadores/ Concacaf calling. He was the guy who always would talk down about DC when they would play vs. any mexican squad.

I thought the new women's team in SF was called FC Gold Pride. When did they change their name to Mice Research?

As for El Salvador: They had to have won with "Pupusa Power!"
