Thanks. Obviously it would be more (unpaid) work for you, but how about player ratings (and commentary?) from the leading soccer publication in each country?

Dempsey and Fulham had a great match against Arsenal. They could have easily won that game. And while Dempsey is a real talent, and I'm glad he's on our national team, his dives, elbows and stalling are going to get him red-carded one day when the US can least afford it.

rick: seriously? You think he sits down and watches each game?

Jozy not in the 18 this week (as opposed to being on the bench).

Reignking: re-read what rick1977 requested.

Not that it's not a crazy request -- it is. But it's not asking (or presuming) Goff to watch all (or even any of) these matches.

Guys, as much as I'd like to offer more material, my schedule is full. I'm a one-man operation and, between the blog, website and newspaper for soccer and college basketball assignments, I'm already working 6 or 7 days per week. For in-depth analysis of each and every USA player abroad, I'm sorry to say, you're on your own.

21 days until we have to worry about rating United's players after each match!

After reading the Insider's quick summary, you may want to check out these other sites for more Americans Abroad info. (And, if you dare, there is more on Big Soccer.)

Is this DeMerit's first game back from injury?

This week it seems that more Americans had significant playying time or were in the 18 than in previous weeks.

Near-Americans Abroad:

Neven Subotic 90 minutes in Borussia Dortmund's 0-0 tie with TSG Hoffenheim.

Giuseppe Rossi 82 minutes in Villareal's 2-2 tie with Real Betis.

Edgar Castillo 13 minutes (substitute) in Club America's 0-2 loss to San Luis.

Who am I missing? :-)

Pachuca lost 5-0 to Chivas? Ouch! Even worse that Jose Francisco Torres was on for all 90min of it.

Glad to see Eddie J. got on the pitch - even for nine whole minutes.

Interesting that Maurice Edu is getting 90 mins for Rangers, but Beasley isn't getting any.

Sad to see both Altidore and Freddie Adu with no playing time. :-(

I guess Rangers believes Edu has more potential then Beas? Which is probably true

Posted by: carmines757 | March 1, 2009 10:37 PM | Report abuse

Beas was coming off injury.

Edu wasn't scheduled for the start; Mendes was injured in the warm-ups forcing them to throw Mo in as a stop-gap.

Anybody know about Jay Needham in Norway? Maybe he should be added to the list, as an old DC prospect.

Posted by: grotusmaximus | March 2, 2009 8:06 AM | Report abuse

After investigation, seems the Norwegian league doesn't start until April.

I guess the people will have to be satisfied with this until the season starts:

I wonder if we could do something like this on the Anacostia?

Shevchenko is married to an American. Is he an almost-Yank?

Do the Revs still have MLS rights to Jeremiah White?

DeMerit again injured his thigh and limped off directly to the locker room
