McBride Sidelined

Chicago forward Brian McBride will miss four to six weeks after undergoing surgery today to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder. He is the Fire's leading scorer with six goals and has played every minute of 16 league matches. McBride scored Wednesday against New England in a 2-1 SuperLiga semifinal victory. The shoulder, however, has been a chronic problem and needed to be addressed at this time.

Elsewhere in MLS, Chivas USA dealt midfielder-forward Atiba Harris (two goals, two assists in 13 starts) to Dallas for midfielder Marcelo Saragosa (one assist in eight starts).

they should replace McBride's bad shoulder and arm with a metal robotic one.

Good luck and speedy recovery to Mr. McBride. Classy guy through and through who has spilled a pint or two for the Nats (even if he is playing for the wrong team).

So is this move a precursor to the Cooper exodus?

Dang. Time for Nyarko and Rolfe to step it up.

Maybe United still has a shot at first place in the Eastern Conference.....

I'm very surprised to see Chivas deal Harris, especially after dealing Esky not long ago. I don't know about this being a precursor to a Cooper transfer by Dallas, but it makes me wonder what Chivas is up to. Maybe something in the works there.

@jayrockers: if you're playing mlsnet/or foxsoccer fantasy you can still make transfers, if they haven't played right? As in if you got McBride as a forward in your team you can transfer him for another player who hasn't played yet, or at least sub him. Right? I got him in an ESPN team and he's now getting traded.
