Distant Goal by D.C.'s Own
As savvy Web explorers, you have probably already seen the video of this goal from 90-some yards by Southern Methodist University freshman defender Ryan Rosenbaum last week against nationally ranked Tulsa. What you probably didn't know is that Rosenbaum is from Washington, graduated from Wilson High School in Northwest D.C. and played several years for Reston FC, an elite youth program. The fluky strike came in just his fourth appearance of the season. His older brother David played two years for Virginia and two for Virginia Commonwealth before signing with the USL-2's Richmond Kickers this past summer. Ryan was discovered by college scouts at the Surf Cup in San Diego last year, according to his club coach, Todd Hitt. Enjoy:

150 days until United's first 2010 league match!

That was a ridiculous bounce, I am surprised it's a real grass field on sand. Goalkeeper was frozen though, I would have been backpedaling at least.

Check the wind whipping the flag in the background as the ball bounces / skips in....
