Old enough to understand that he belongs to something much bigger than himself. Beautiful. Mazal Tov.

Mazal Tov!

Ya big mensch!

Presumably 13 years + 9+ months, but who's counting? ;)

Enjoy. We'll manage to stumble along without our allocation of Goff.

Netherlands, NEC-PSV 11:30 a.m. ESPN Deportes
(I've always wanted to see two computers play each other)

We're not getting any younger, Steve. Seems like the Youth National Championships back in 1990 were just last week! Amazing.

This song just came to mind:

"Older than I used to be, younger than I'm gonna be
Fewer things puzzle me than when I was young
But when my pace is falling slack
I catch myself thinking back
a certain night, a certain summer
Long gone long..."

Congrats to the Goff family, Steve.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Congratulations.

Is it an open Bar (Mitzvah)?

Won't be watching the DC United game. It's got a great 45 minute wedge on Comcast between the end of the hockey game and their sports show.

Thx,

Jay!

CSN+ not CSN, jayrockers. Your program guide may be wrong.

Evidently CSN will join the match in progress as well.

I wonder if the Insider will slip away for a brief second during the festivites to check the score.. Nah, family is more important!

am watching a lousy online stream of the SJJ-Marathon game, it will take a mircale and a half for SJJ to come out of this with any kind of points. 0-0 after 20, but all the traffic is in front of the SJJ goal. Here is the stream: (warning-lousy quality)

i've got to do some other things, i hope there is a pleasant surprise for me when i check the score again...!

Two quality chances from Jabloteh! One off the crossbar and the other a missed tap-in off a good cross!

Another GREAT attendance/crowd for Jabloteh!

Aside from me teasing the Chicago fans voices, I say kudos to their supporters for enjoying themselves in the rain. Looks like a fun game to be at... as long as you didn't forget your earplugs.;-)

why does JP keep saying Chicago would clinch with a draw? That isn't true is it?
That'd only give them 41 points right? United still could get as many as 42 with a win this weekend right?

Posted by: DadRyan | October 22, 2009 9:24 PM | Report abuse

I'm sorry, but we're not going to the playoffs or to the quarterfinals guys.

I wish it were different...

Posted by: DadRyan | October 22, 2009 9:31 PM | Report abuse

Oh wells. DCU did better in the CCL this year than last. This may bode well for another invitation to the Carolina Challenge Cup and another fight for the Coffee Pot Cup in preseason... I'm crossing my fingers that it happens and I'm able to take in two match days instead of just one!
Vamos United!

Everyone see the thing from Reuters about cow sacrifices at the WC stadia? The pundits who are usually anti-soccer should appreciate the fresh red meat angle, right? They've gotta be steak people, right?

For all the Google calendar users, you may now "subscribe" to your team's schedule. Too late for DC United and the Freedom this year, but you can get the English League 2 and follow Dag & Red.

Did anyone get to see the free preview screening at the Regal next to the Phone Booth the other night? For that matter, did anyone get to see any other offerings in what I believe was called the Kicking and Screening festival?

Last night, being stuck at the office, I was looking for an Internet radio feed for the Chivas-Chicago match. I learned that there are no regularly scheduled English-language broadcasts of games in either market. That should make us appreciate Limarzi that much more. Interestingly, in addition to Spanish-language coverage, Fire matches were carried on a Polish-language station for a number of years.

Anybody know why Jozy isn't on the team for Hull's match against Plymouth? Or Bullard, for that matter? Didn't Phil Brown say something about giving Jozy every opportunity to develop as a player?

"Anybody know why Jozy isn't on the team for Hull's match against Plymouth? Or Bullard, for that matter? Didn't Phil Brown say something about giving Jozy every opportunity to develop as a player?"

Jozy showed up late for the match and was put on the bench. He was upset about it and posted that he was benched for being late on his Twitter account. Big mistake. Phil Brown got upset and left him of the 18 for the match, and has probably fined him.

BIG mistakes from Jozy.
