Chicago's Coaching Search
Another name has surfaced in the Fire's hunt for a head coach: Richie Williams.
The New York Red Bulls' interim coach is expected to speak with Chicago management soon as one of numerous preliminary candidates, the Insider has learned. On Thursday, we told you that Real Salt Lake assistant Robin Fraser met with the Fire this week.
Williams remains in limbo with the Red Bulls, who just hired a foreign sporting director (Erik Soler) and are weighing overseas options for the head coaching position. Though he is employed by New York, Williams apparently has a clause in his contract that allows him to interview for jobs elsewhere during the offseason. He was also a candidate for the opening at D.C. United, his former club, but fell out of consideration last week.

Any news on the DCU search? First I'd seen that Williams was out of contention.....
