The music nearly butchered the compilation.

Messi has already surpassed Maradona in my book. Plus he's about a million times more likable

Messi is a jewel of the times...enjoy him while he's healthy and does wonders on the pitch. Just keep Christopher Sullivan of FSC off the mike when Messi performs, so his play is not suffocated by hyper-chatter..

Messi will have to show that kind of brilliance at the World Cup before I can out put him over Maradona as one of the greatest in the game. Notice that the video shows highlights of Maradona with Boca, Barca, Napoli and Argentina. He was amazing in different leagues and at the international level. Messi on the other hand has been very underwhelming with the national team.

Messi gets the nod. The tight, nut-huggin' shorts of the Maradona era clearly prohibit the defenders movements.

Messi was 19 during his first World Cup- Maradona was 22. Let's see how Messi fares this time around, now that he's into his 20s

Maradona right now. Lets wait until Messi finishes his career and see where he's at. 1986 and 1990 the Argentina team was basically Maradona and 10 others - he carried those teams to the 86 title and 90 final.

Messi has exceeded what Maradona did in Barcelona, which was Maradona's most difficult time of his career. Maradona flurished in Naples, but Napoli was not an elite Serie A team where he could win multiple international and domestic titles. Those Napoli teams were built around Maradona as was Argentina. This Barcelona team is not built aorund Messi - it is built around Xavi and Iniesta.

Hopefully Argentina gets a better coach tho, 'cos Maradona as a coach is a joke.

Man oh man! Diego was good...... That move to pull down the ball and fake the River Plate goalie out his jockstrap @ 1:40. Whew.

Messi is amazing -- the best plyer of his generation, he will be to the late '00s and the '10s what Diego was to the late '70s and '80s. Is he better than Diego? Not sure I get the point of the question. Was Willie Mays better than Babe Ruth? Possibly, but they played in different times, Mays playing when athleticism was being prized more. What about Barry Bonds? Who had better stats...who was ever a more feared hitter? Ah, but the PEDs he took... Seriously, how do you compare? Making the comparison says more about the person and the point they're trying to prove than it does about the players.
