Sometimes it's not about the finish but the build-up. Watch Spain in tight spaces against Poland during a friendly tonight in Murcia, culminating with David Silva's goal:

I think we're gonna need a bigger boat.

Reminds me of the goal argentina scored vs. Serbia and Montenegro in the 06 WC, with the touches, creativity, and the finishing.
Iniestas scoop pass, so pretty, and the guy who he gives it to beats the offsides trap, and a easy tap in for da silva.

It's a mindset. One or two touches, play with speed, do the unexpected.
Beautiful stuff.

It's a shame Spain doesn't play with the same levels of attacking flair and beauty as DC United does . . . oh wait.

That seems like the kind of stuff found in an adidas or nike commercial. Crazy good. The only way spain loses is if they beat themselves; they are that damn talented and deep

Jason Heyward's better...
:p

Spain's the best; they're like Brazil if Brazil was likable.

It looks to me as if they have been scouting the USMNT camp and taking notes...

The Polish players were so mesmerized by the passing that they forgot to mark Silva.

Awesome goal, horrific soundtrack (unless maybe you're European techno-inclined).

Mmmm, I liked Reagan, why not go for the gold? :-P McCain, really? I like him alright but...he'll practically be penguin by then... (Bugs Bunny citation needed)

This made me laugh to myself in the way you'd laugh if someone gives you a perfect yet unexpected gift.
Also, was anyone else confused seeing Iniesta as 6 and Xavi as 8?

Upon further watching, the best thing about it is that, after making the glorious lob, Iniesta walks a couple steps. It's like as soon as the ball left his foot, the job was done and he could relax. The goal was a given, almost an afterthought.

Just watched the full game on replay. Watching Spain play made me feel giddy...like the way I feel when I watch a puppy play...or something like that.
They will have to be careful to not over extend against teams that are strong on the counter.

Yeah, that'll be fun to watch for four, maybe five games.

I was reading Sport Illustrated's WC issue in the Dr. office - yes, WC10, not 06 or98; health care is more expensive because the magazines are current. Anyway, they picked Spain to be in the final (no surprise) against England. What was Grant Wahl smoking?

Yeah, but could any of them get a hit off Strasburg? :)
Oh wait, there are other sports going on besides Nats b-ball?

I'm glad we didn't get grouped in with them.
