Some of the worst goalkeeping I've ever seen! The video doesn't even do it justice. Nice to see RSL was at least in good enough form to take advantage. Hope they keep rolling in CCL.

The clips don't do justice. The Crew defenders left RSL attackers run free all night long, so I wouldn't put it all on the keeper. I'm hoping they don't fix their issues before the 19th.

Good, I hate the Crew-less!!!

Some nice goals by RSL. Very nice FK by Andy Williams. Looked like a good turnout at Rio Tinto in freezing weather, and a vocal crowd. Good showcase match for the league.

Mr Goff,
Isnt today the waiver draft? If I were DC I would take a look at NYRB waivees Connor Chinn and Irving Garcia.
Posted by: AnthonyTheGreat | March 2, 2011 8:46 AM | Report abuse
Yeah, bad goalkeeping, but RSL knows what to do with the ball, huh?
Like Ron said, that was a great crowd. Kinda thin at first, but reapply filled in, and got pretty loud at times.

I'd hang the second goal on the goalie (possibly, we don't get a good view of it), but not the others. Good shots, two from well inside the box and the third the nice free kick.

I may need to eat some words. Julius James looked very release-worthy in his 30+ minutes.

The Crew's defenders look collectively terrible in those clips. Their pickup of James is starting to make more sense to me. Goalie should be embarrassed for giving away his near post so casually.
Posted by: hungrypug | March 2, 2011 10:04 AM | Report abuse
Wow, RSL could've easily scored a few more with a couple inches shaves off the posts...
Not related: Is it just me, or have we had the most active off-season by far? It seems like in past year, there has been significantly more buzz about other teams' acquisitions/roster changes, even on this blog. In 2011 it's been all Davies/Kitchen/Fred/Kitchen, all the time

I dont need to eat my words. I am just glad you have seen the light :)
Crews midfield was completely overrun. And the Crew look to have a depleted roster, RSL played with a sophistication in possession that I have rarely seen in MLS. Their movement was brilliant as was the patience -time and time again they made the simply pass backwards or sideways to get out of trouble and keep the ball. RSL are loaded and my favorite this year (not that this claim should be that shocking). I also hope RSL win the CCL.

Love to see that friendly crew defending. I was gonna ask when DC gets to eat their lunch, but I see carnack already answered my question. Most topical my friend, most topical.

Bradley is starting for Villa over on FSP.
Unlike BARD, I hope Arsenal lose this one. We could use an easy game in the FA Cup with our league run in.

Can we just swap rosteres with RSL? That would be cool. We can keep Benny, though.

Anyone else find most Concacaf logos for their tournaments including trophies really ugly. I think if the trophy needs a make over if the CCL wants to be taken seriously...

I guess the MLS waiver draft is like the proverbial tree falling in the forest with no one around. If no one reports anything about it -- nary even a tweet -- did it really happen?
